A new metropolitan neighbourhood is emerging in the Lekki corridor in Lagos State.

Tagged “Gracefield Phoenix”, the project is located on the lagoon shoreline at the end of Chevron Drive, Lekki, with reclamation work currently on-going.

The promoters – Gravitas Development has hired a team of engineers, consultants and other project partners, in order to actualize the dream of delivering a world-class new urban metropolis, with the land area spanning approximately 100 hectares on the Lekki lagoon.

Currently, two leading dredging and reclamation companies, namely, Messrs Boskalis and Van Oord, both of Netherlands, have been engaged to carry out the reclamation of the site, while Aurecon of South Africa is the main engineering consultants and Messrs Stauch Vorster carried out the urban planning and layout drawing of the integrated new city development.

Lafarge are the ready-mix concrete partners. Utilities – power, water and domestic gas are off-grid, to ensure reliability and efficiency. In addition,  iPNX are committed to install optic fibre in the new city to ensure supermarket telecom facility, amongst other support services.

Speaking on the project,  the lead project manager, Mr. Pieter Van Heerden of Aurecon said that the Gracefield Phoenix will set a standard of excellence in lifestyle integrated living in Africa, and compare very well with the best in the world.
