Adigwu, man who Served ‘Laff Supper’

The atmosphere was electrifying, excitement was contagious as the crowd milled into the bowels of the Trinity House, Victoria Island, Lagos, venue of the event on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026.

Organised to coincide with the religious activity of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ before his death and ascension to heaven during the recently celebrated Easter, this year’s edition of the ‘Laff Supper’, a comedy, dance and music fiesta lived up to it’s billing as one of the biggest entertainment events in the city of Lagos and across Nigeria.

DJ A-Slide set the mood for the evening with inspirational songs, which got the audience set for the full course of the ‘Supper’. The comperes, ND Talk and Ifeoma of Konga Fm took over and declared the event open with the introduction of the first artiste, Arite.

Arite is a fast-rising singer and the recent winner of the Africa Creative Market Next Level Award supported by the British Council. She also took a shot at a Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon.

Her outing earned her a long applause from the satisfied crowd. MC Laz took over from where Arite stopped. A creative comedian, MC Laz, raised the pulse of the audience with his funny jokes that sent them reeling with laughter.

ATM and EfeWarriboy took turns to further crack them up with spontaneous jokes.

EfeWarriboy is also an actor who stars in one of Nigeria’s best sitcoms, My Flatmates, produced by top Nigerian stand up comedian, Bright Okpocha aka Basket Mouth and late actor and show organiser, Kayode Peters aka Koko. The introduction of Ekene Smith, who is the host and convener of the comedy show titled Laff Supper With Ekene Smith & the 12 Disciples further raised the bar of the already charged night. Ekene Smith put up a good performance, his jokes were very relatable and family friendly.

After Ekene Smith’s performance, Mc Shaggi and a fast-rising Nigerian musician named Liberty Vibes with some other up-and-coming comedians took turns on the stage. ‘Laff Supper With Ekene Smith & The 12 Disciples’ also had in attendance popular Nigerian comedians, Odogwu and Mc Abilitea.

The comedy show was supported by Chen Homes, one of the leading real estates companies in Nigeria, and Unilag Micro Finance Bank, a youth-driven financial organization supporting creative projects.

As the crowd laughed and enjoyed themselves, there was one shadowy figure who stayed behind the scenes and put everything together to ensure the evening was memorable. In fact, he cooked and served the ‘Laff Supper’ for the audience to feast on. He is a young man named Chukwuka Adigwu, popularly known as Papumatic. Papumatic to many is perceived to be camera shy. He however disputes this perception: “Not that I am camera shy, no, but I am more focused on getting the job done behind the scenes. My objective is to bring the artistic vision of the show to life, from an idea to execution,” he said, adding that he had been doing that for years without sounding off.

Adigwu started his career as a Talent Manager working as an entertainment executive with Firematic Entertainment Group, a home for popular brands such as Blaq Jerzee, Juliet Ibrahim, DJ Spinall among others. “Having this background working as one of the creative managers with the management group and directing and leading the talent on the brand gave me some exposure in the industry which prompted my interest in artistic production.”
