At a time when the nation is going through challenges bothering on insecurity and disunity, a group of concerned Nigerians have conceived the Greenmystery Reality TV Show, through which they aim to promote peace and unity in the country.

Though the show is billed to go on live air in September, application is already open for interested individuals, who will go through regional auditions before qualifying to compete for a cash prize of N10, with consolation prizes.

Speaking at a media briefing held recently in Lagos to herald the project, which will have contestants from different geopolitical zones of the country, the Legal Adviser for the reality show Vona Uwadehwe, informed that the show will rekindle moral and cultural values and promote entrepreneurship, leadership and nation-building through reality TV style entertainment.

“The idea is to promote peace in Nigeria and we designed it to be a wholly Nigerian project. We all know that entertainment has become a major tool for promotion, so, we are using this platform to tell Nigerians that only peaceful environment will guarantee progress for the nation,” he said.

According to Uwadehwe, entry is open for young Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 35, who will slug it out with other talents from across the country, while 36 contenders will be selected for the show proper.

“It’s going to be a nationwide projects, with contestants from all the geopolitical zones. This platform will be dedicated to finding and building peace and unity in Nigeria. We are asking our youths to be part of this nation building project by registering through our website www.greenmystery.com.ng with N5000 or call 07015730850,” he said.

According to the Media Adviser for the project Tunde Eso, the show will be televised live nationwide, with six housemates from each of six geopolitical zones or one participant from each of the 36 states.

“Auditioning will take place in the six geopolitical zones for interested participants who must not be not less than 18 years and not more than 35. Participants must, however, have the country’s interest at heart,” Eso hinted.

Head of Production for the project Adeyinka Igbinoba assured viewers that all effort is being put in place to ensure a successful outing, assuring that details of the auditions will be made public in due course.

“To qualify for this show, all you need is to be a Nigerian between the ages of 18 and 35; there’s no discrimination. However, you must be able to communicate fluently in English so as to be able to participate in the tasks. This is not all about entertainment; a lot of intellectual activities are involved.”

Aside from the N10 million cash prize for the overall winner, other housemates, according to the promoters, would also be rewarded with consolation prizes.“Right now, the sale of form is ongoing and we are open for sponsorship from both private organisations and government agencies. We are searching for young Nigerians, who have the ideas on how to build lasting peace in the country and I think government agencies should be part of this nation building project,” Uwadehwe said.
