The much-anticipated Magnified Influencer Awards (MIA) is set to make its Nigerian debut at the prestigious Oriental Hotel in Lagos on December 14, 2024, celebrating individuals who have used the power of social media to inspire and drive positive change in communities across Nigeria and beyond.

Founded by British-Nigerian social entrepreneur, Magdalene Jumbo, MIA is designed to recognise influencers who are not just trendsetters but role models and leaders.

This marks the first time the event will be hosted in Nigeria, following its successful launch in London on August 6, 2022. Unlike typical awards that highlight celebrities in the public eye, the MIA focuses on those who have significantly impacted their communities through digital platforms, raising awareness and promoting social good.

According to Jumbo, “Great influencers don’t just tell stories; they create movements. At MIA, we are not only celebrating the power of influence but also the responsibility that comes with it. These awards are a tribute to those who use their platforms not just to shine but to light the way for others, to inspire change, and to build communities that are stronger, more inclusive, and more resilient.”

The event will recognise influencers across three major categories: Upcoming Influencer Award, Honourable Influencer Award and Top Influencer Award. Each category celebrates the diverse ways influencers contribute to societal development, from fashion to mental health advocacy. “It promises to be an International Naija ‘Epic Gbege Fusion,” she said.
