Nigerian Canadian newspaper hosts Remarkable Father’s awards

The Nigerian Canadian Newspaper, Canada is set to host the second edition of Remakable Father’s Award and Gala, targeted at honouring outstanding father in the community.

The Nigerian Canadian Newspaper, Canada is set to host the second edition of Remakable Father’s Award and Gala, targeted at honouring outstanding father in the community.

The event, themed: “Celebrating Fatherhood: The Unseen Heroes,” supported by Welcome Home African Community Service, holds on August 25, 2024, in Canada. The Founder of the Nigerian Canadian Newspaper, Canada and Remarkable Awards and Gala, Ngozi Ugoh, who disclosed that the awardees are remarkable individuals, who have worked tirelessly, often behind the scenes, said they were nominated by friends and family.

She said: “The awardees are from different backgrounds and communities. This is our second year celebrating fathers and our ninth year for mothers (held in May).

“We are thrilled to announce the recipients of the Remarkable Father’s Awards, honouring outstanding individuals from our community. This year, we made a concerted effort to identify those who have selflessly dedicated their time and energy to serving others.

“These remarkable individuals have worked tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to make a positive impact in our community. Despite their family responsibilities, they have consistently put the needs of others first. We are grateful for their contributions, which have provided shade for us to enjoy today.”

While paying tributes to those who had passed away without receiving the recognition, Ugoh said: “Those who are still with us but are no longer able to participate, and those who continue to serve with dedication and passion, we celebrate not only these remarkable individuals, but also the upcoming leaders in our community.

“Join us on August 25, 2024, as we honour manhood and fatherhood. We invite you to collaborate with us in celebrating these exceptional individuals and expressing our gratitude for all that they do for humanity.”

Ugoh urged fathers to come in their large numbers as about 50 individuals will be awarded, noting that there will be opportunity for networking and other opportunities.

She added that the initiative is part of the medium’s efforts to give back to society, calling for sponsorship and collaborators to make the event worthwhile.
