The Executive Director of Vine Crest College, Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, Mrs. Folasade Phillips, has said that quality schools are products of quality teachers while quality schools is about positive influence on the pupils.

Philips stated that this during an engagement with parents about the school’s activities and upcoming entrance examinations slated for March 14, 28, May 9, June 6 and July 22.

She stated that though the school is young but it is run by very highly experienced managers and teachers, revealing that she has over 40 years experiencing teaching and administrating three of the best schools in Nigeria.

Philips said in most schools, character moulding is usually missing but at Vine Crest College, the students are told that though grade As can get them into ivy institutions but character is what keep them in the school and excelling.

She added that the school usually set goals for their students because if not the students will not give their best but the minimal performance.

She stated that students must be pushed and mentored and when necessary, they must be disciplined and not pampered, else they will via off.

According to her, the school blends service and leadership with academic learning for its students because that is key for their growth. She stated that the school’s activities are guided by its core values, SCRIDS which are service, curiosity, resilience, integrity, diligence and self discipline.

She added that the goal is to develop the encourage of a lifetime love of learning among the students.

Philips also said that the school does not just depend on syllabus from government but get materials that are content rich to complement that of government especially as the school prepares its students for international examination. She added that there are many advantage of boarding though some schools have bastardized it.
