Eko Hotel and Suites was agog recently, as the facility hosted the third edition of Evolution Children Choir’s concert, even though it is the first of what has been described as The Confluence.

The first performance of the inaugural Confluence was by violinist Shiloh Kounasso, who treated music lovers to the best of violin with the song, You Say.
Lifted Megwara, with a sonorous voice and display of musical dexterity, also treated his audience to the best of Little Blue.

Curiosity of the audience was met with satisfaction when Zadok & Evolution Children Choir climbed the stage to render The Greatest Show, which was followed by other performances such as Udo di, Witness Me and You Raise Me Up.

Other songs that lifted the souls of the audience were Somewhere Only We Know, When We Were Young and Omo Ayo. Speaking at the event, the Convener, Philip Yahweh, said the concert brought together children from different social, racial and ethnic backgrounds living in Lagos with a view to using their skills to spread messages of love, hope and unity.

“At this inaugural confluence, songs rendered included gospel, afro soul, pop and jazz and we have done this to distract the children from vices.

“Composition of the choir helps to keep the children busy in addition to eradication of vices in the society, and one thing, they are happy at what they are doing, which is in tandem with our goal.”

He said: “Having been in music education industry for 15 years, I have had the privilege of working with children, studied what they love and songs that would interest them.”
