Key is usually a metal instrument by which the bolt of a lock is turned to open it, allowing gaining of entrance, and taking possession or control of a place. In the context of this message, it is a way of life that guarantees salvation of one’s soul, leading to entering Heaven at the end of one’s earthly life. As believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, we are running a race to win, in order to wear a crown of glory. The crown which the righteous God will give to every successful runner after entrance into His Kingdom, the glorious heaven where the streets are made of gold.

In the lead scripture above, the Bible outlines the ways of success in earthly life and in heavenly race. Every Christian hoping to succeed must be strong in the Lord, and be courageous enough to face challenges from both men and kingdom of darkness. To strengthen your determination, you should always read the Bible to understand God’s will and plan for your life. The instructions handed down through the Bible must be obeyed without looking back or seeking earthly gratifications, but with the sole aim of serving God. In unconditional obedience to the Word of God, you will be prosperous here on earth and have eternal life in heaven at last.

We should always look unto Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith and follow His footsteps. In John 13:13-17 the Bible says, “Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example; that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them”.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the mirror through which we see Christianity. He is the director for the heavenly race. We should always be obedient to the Word of God. Abraham obeyed God and he was bountifully blessed, to the extent the Bible says that God blessed him in all things. Again, Joshua who took over the mantle of leadership from Moses and led the Israelites into Promised Land was tremendously blessed. In the case of Abraham, God told him to leave his country, his people to a place God would show him, and he obeyed without questions. The Bible presents it thus in Genesis 12:1-4 saying, “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 4 So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran”. Without question or further hesitation, Abraham wholeheartedly left his people and country to an unknown destination, though under Divine direction. God blessed him in all things for his obedient faith in Him. There are numerous benefits one enjoys for heeding Divine instruction. It attracts God’s protection from enemies. God fights the person’s battles without him/her knowing it. There is economic blessing manifesting in terms of business prosperity and open doors in the person’s life endeavours, making one to render help to other people in need. It also helps in both spiritual and secular leadership. We need to follow God wholeheartedly, just like Abraham and the blessings of God will follow us.

In Mark 10:28-30 the Bible says, “Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” For individuals to live a successful Christian life, they must be prepared to separate themselves from the things of this world and its people. As Apostle Peter has argued in the above scripture, but our Lord Jesus Christ assured him and other disciples, including believers of the present day. Whoever leaves the things of this world for the sake of the gospel will surely receive them hundred folds and make heaven at last. However, in the course of this race, persecution must be part of the challenges to face because they are bound to come, even from unexpected angles. Your mind has to be prepared to weather them without offending anyone.

Having started the race, you must make yourself relevant by doing God’s work to win souls for the Kingdom of God, because you are brought into the family of God to convert others. That is why the Bible says in Mark 16:15, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”. The above scripture is a Divine command that must be obeyed in the course of heavenly race. Anybody hoping to make heaven must create time for evangelism. After searching the book of law and knowing the Will of God, you do not keep it to yourself. Other people around you must benefit from your Christian life, so as to make heaven at the end of their earthly lives. Our Lord Jesus Christ has set the ball rolling and advised His disciples to follow His footsteps. Hence the Bible says in 1st Corinthians 11:1-3, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God”. As Christians we are bound to follow the examples of our Lord Jesus Christ and that of the people who ran this race before us. Quality time should be devoted to preaching the gospel for the conversion and salvation of perishing souls. In doing all these, live your life according to God’s Will, and you will be blessed here on earth and live eternal life in heaven at the end of this life on earth.

Testimony Of The Lord’s Doing
No Weapon Formed Against The Chosen Shall Prosper
MY name is Sister Oloyede Esther. I joined Chosen in 2008. I am the Coordinator for Southwest Women Leader in this great ministry. I want to thank this great God of Chosen for His faithfulness and mercies upon my family and I.
My testimony goes thus:

I went to the North as a Christian in 1986 and came back to Lagos in 2020 as a Christian, to God be the glory. In the North, there was no work for non-indigenes. I continued applying for any available vacancy until 1989, when I got employment with the ministry of health. I was there, though there was no rank or promotion for me because I was not an indigene.

But my husband encouraged me to stay, since we were there for salvation and nothing else. With time, we got a land for my former church, because we were members of that ministry since 1977, until we joined Chosen in 2008. Note that after I got the land for my former ministry, God gave me a beetle car. In 2008, there was no Chosen Church in the town where I was working. When I came to the headquarters at Ijesha, I bought some magazines and shared them among the people, when l returned to my station and also told them the testimonies that happened here. As they heard the testimonies of the Lord’s Chosen, they wondered why the church was not there. One of them asked why there was no land for the Church. At that time, they had laid embargo on land allocation to churches. When I joined Chosen, God promoted me to the MCA, as the Maternal and child welfare coordinator. So, I was allowed to hold meetings with the Emir, DPO and local government chairman because of my position. When I got there, I told them I wanted a piece of land for my church, and they said there was embargo on land. They asked about the other land I got and I told them it was for my former church, while the one I wanted was for another church. And though somebody gave us land, we needed receipts and go-ahead to commence building on the site. Eventually, the approval was given to us.

When we got the land, we were looking for fund to build the church. Eventually, I was invited for a seminar and the money I got from the seminar, I sowed into the building. More favour came during that period and I channeled everything into that building. After that, I was blessed with an SUV.

God has been helping me in the ministry. The standard of education in the North is not to be compared with that of the South, but I insisted that my children should do their studies in the North. And to God’s glory, my children are all excelling in their studies. My son went for a competition with over 500,000 participants and at the end; he was among the three successful ones. I thank God that none of my children was converted to the other religion while I was there. God gave me a meritorious service till I retired.

In 2013, Boko Haram insurgents tormented that place so much. They even came to our quarters several times, but God of the Chosen protected us. In one of their operations, my SUV was bombed, but to God’s glory, it has been replaced by the good people of that place. That is the Lord’s doing. May His Name be praised in Jesus name… Amen.

I pray for our G.O, his family and all the Chosen worldwide. Heaven at last in Jesus name!
Sister Esther Oloyede.
