The way to heaven is narrow

Isaiah 35:8-10, “And a highway shall be there, and away, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. 9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: 10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”

Nothing good comes easy, hence for any remarkable achievement to be made by any person(s), there must be determination, sacrifices, self-denials, trials and temptations, and above all tribulations. All these characterise the race to eternal life in heaven. In the above scripture, the Bible is definite in saying that fools will not be in heaven so that they will not repeat the mistakes they made while on earth. People who fight like lions will never find their way to heaven, but only the redeemed of God will be in heaven, where sorrow will fly away. Heaven is a prepared place for selected, prepared and refined people. There will be no contamination of evil from any source.

The Bible says in Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” The nature of the present world makes it extremely difficult for a heavenly-minded person to live comfortably on this earth. Man by nature is lazy, easy-going and careless. But the conditions for making heaven are the direct opposite of the nature and desires of the flesh. Hence, whoever must have eternal life in heaven must be determined and prepared, ready to deny the natural desires of the flesh. The pursuit of money and flaunting of wealth at the slightest opportunity, drinking of alcohol, cultism, money ritual and all other sinful activities are the stock-in-trade in the present world. Therefore, whosoever wants to make heaven has to avoid all these while still on earth. It will not be easy, which is why the Bible says the way is narrow and only few people will find it.

In Matthew 16:20-26 the Bible says, “Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. 21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. 22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. 23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. 24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26 For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul”? Our Lord Jesus Christ left the comfort of heaven to come into the world to die for the sins of all mankind. He was buried but resurrected after three days and ascended to heaven, currently sitting at the right hand of God Almighty. God has given Him all powers and at the mention of the name of Jesus Christ, every knee must bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. For us to enter heaven for eternal life, we must go the way of Jesus Christ; follow Him to the end by denying ourselves the pleasures of this present world. We must be prepared to die and rise with Christ; do the work of God without minding the challenges facing us. No matter the wealth acquired here on earth, we are leaving them behind when death comes or rapture takes place. It is, therefore, of paramount importance to be conscious of where our soul will be at the end of life on this planet earth. Anyone who misses heaven has lost everything. No one takes world possessions beyond this earth. What will be your gain if you miss heaven?

The Bible says in John12: 23-26, “And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. 26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour”. Except a man is born again by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, he will not enter heaven. If you continue to satisfy your fleshly demands and do not give attention to the things of the spirit, you will definitely not be able to find the narrow way and gate that lead to heaven. The world will one day come to an end. At the same time any man living on this planet earth will one day leave it either by death or rapture. We must prepare for the eternal life. The life eternal is better spent in heaven not in hellfire. For us to make heaven, there must be self-denials of certain pleasures of the earth. It is not all the flesh wants you allow it to have. You must keep your body under subjection to allow the spirit of God gain upper hand and control. When we serve God, there is every need to get the full benefits of serving Him. The Bible says in 1st Corinthians 15:19, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” The major reason we are in Christ, go to fellowship with Him every Sunday is for eternal life. Other blessings will surely come, but everlasting life is the reason we embraced Christ. If we miss heaven after going to church every Sunday, wake early in the morning to go and preach to people and do other works of God and miss heaven, we have lived a miserable life on this earth. To avoid this ugly situation, we must cut off everything likely to constitute a hindrance to our making heaven. In our daily life, we must ensure nothing stands between us and God.

Our Lord Jesus Christ has given His life for the salvation of all mankind. It is now your duty to key into the sacrificial death on the Cross of Calvary to enter into everlasting life in heaven, by abiding by the rules and regulations spelt out for finding and following that narrow way, leading to eternal life in heaven. Heaven is a prepared place for specially prepared people. Be determined to be among the people that will be saved by going through the trials, temptations and tribulations to find everlasting rest in Heaven.

Arrow Of Madness Sent Back To Sender
MY name is Sister Joy Joshua. I reside at Itire, Lagos, and belong to Itire group zone. I joined The Lord’s Chosen fully in 2005. I thank God for the opportunity given to me to testify the goodness of God upon my life and family. I thank God of Chosen for His love upon my life. I am from a Muslim family, but this God of Chosen loved me so much that He picked me out and made Chosen with my nuclear family.

I was afflicted with the spirit of madness. It all started like this: I was in front of my shop one fateful day, when a very big fly entered my nose. From my nose, it entered my brain and was moving around there, and I was feeling it. There was a day, I was walking along the road, and a voice was calling my native name. Most people did not know me by that name. So, for that voice to call that name means the person must be a very close relative. At times, I would be walking along the road, and it would seem as if somebody was at my back touching me, but if I looked back, I would not see anyone. I would be alone, yet I would be hearing the sound of people talking to me. I was confused. I would ask my husband whether he did not see people that surrounded me, that he should drive them away from me. My husband would reply that he did not see any people, but that I should continue to declare that I am a Chosen and ask them who they are. It was really the spirit of madness. However, I continued coming here, as my daddy G.O said continuity brings freedom. Then during one fateful Thursday service, our G.O mounted the pulpit, and mentioned my case, and said, “there is someone here, they threw an arrow of madness to you from where you came from. I give you three days, you will know that I am called by God Almighty.” This marvelled me. The first day passed, the second day passed, and then came the third day. And exactly as my daddy commanded, towards the evening my phone rang. It was my stepmother. The arrow had backfired on her first daughter. Meanwhile, on that very day our G.O gave that word of knowledge, my brain was feeling like they poured cold water on it and instantly, the arrow returned to my stepmother’s first daughter. When they called to inform me of the lady’s situation, I enquired from them when the case started, and they said since three days ago. They disclosed that the lady hands and feet had been chained, as her case was very violent. They took her from my village to a herbal medicine man in a nearby village. Usually, this man is experienced at his job, as he has healed many people. But as my stepmother got there, the man told her, “there is an innocent person you plan this thing against and the thing backfired.”

My stepmother began to quarrel with the man. So, the man chained mother and daughter together and told my stepmother to go and confess what her daughter did to an innocent person. But rather than obey what the man said, my stepmother began to argue with him. So, the man drove her away with her daughter. All the places they took the lady to, they were told exactly the same thing — that she should go and confess the evil she did.

When I travelled last year to my village, I called my father and told him what happened. My father stopped going with my stepmother to seek a solution for her daughter’s problem. So now, it is only my stepmother that is handling the problem. I didn’t know the person that told her that I was in the village, but I was surprised when my stepmother came to me, greeted me very well and said she didn’t know the person she offended, that they had returned the arrow back to the sender. Truly, the arrow was back to the sender. God of the Chosen is so great. May His name be highly exalted in Jesus name!

I will ever remain grateful to God, Who fought my battle and gave me victory over my enemy. Once again, thank you Lord for delivering me from the arrow of madness.
