VDT gets national recognition for development
VDT Communications Limited, a broadband communications and 4G LTE Advanced services provider, has been recognised among learning and development greats in Nigeria.
In a Learning and Development Benchmark Survey, VDT is ranked among the five best companies in Nigeria.
The survey, which involved over 100 corporate organisations of different sizes, was conducted for a duration of 14 months by Digital Jewels, an information value chain consultant. The survey focused on workplace learning and development activities in corporate organisations and government establishments.
It took a holistic approach at exploring all levels of learning and development functions, namely: training circle, knowledge management and talent management.
The assessment criteria used for the survey were, learning strategy, business impact, learning execution, employee satisfaction, leadership and commitment. The result showed that among several others surveyed, few companies in Nigeria adopted best practices and implemented commendable learning and development initiatives.
The top five among these category in order of premium performance, were First Bank, which scored 86 per cent, followed by Nigerian Breweries and Total Nigeria Plc with a score of 80 per cent each, Nestle Nigeria Plc scored 74 per cent while VDT Communications scored 72 per cent.
VDT relentlessly pursues a productive learning and development policies for her staff across board in spite of the economic crunch in the country. It is mandatory that each VDT staff to undergo major external training in his or her area of competence twice in a year. This is in addition to several workshops; seminars and conferences recommended for different staff members throughout the year.
