Forum commits to making young graduates employable

The fourth edition of the employability and speed interview event, known as HIRED, has reaffirmed its role as a pivotal platform for driving employability and career development in Nigeria, most especially for young graduates.
Founder of Workplace Women, Kelechi Mbah, who emphasized the vision behind HIRED, said it empowers individuals to not only secure employment but to excel as high-value professionals in their chosen industries.
She spoke during HIRED 4.0, held at the University of Lagos, where young Nigerians were equipped with the tools and connections needed to thrive in today’s job market.
Chief Information Security Officer at First Bank, Harrison Nnaji, shared impactful insights on ‘Reskilling and Career Pivoting: The Future of Work,’ and guided participants on how to navigate the ever-changing job market through skill enhancement and career transitions.
Representing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was Yewande Ojewale, from the office of the Lagos State Coordinator, Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), where she emphasised the importance of SAED programmes for corps members, highlighting NYSC’s commitment to equipping young graduates with practical skills for entrepreneurship and career development.
She also applauded Workplace Women for HIRED Initiatives, emphasising its impact on society and for corps members, stating that the initiative would not only empower young professionals but would be pivotal to the career development of corps members within the state.
The highlight of HIRED 4.0 was the speed interview session, where participants had the opportunity to connect with representatives from top-tier organizations at their recruitment booths to secure interviews and gain valuable networking opportunities.
Some of the participants who shared their feedback expressed their gratitude to the initiative for creating such a platform for them to access employment opportunities and also a learning environment that promotes growth and advancement in the workplace.
