Three persons were killed in an accident after a truck rammed into a commercial tricycle and a car in the Epe area of Lagos on Monday.
The prosecution witnesses, two LASTMA officers, Adeoye Olayinka and Salam Olajide, gave vivid evidence in the ongoing trial of five drivers of Suzuki Mini Commercial (popularly known as korope) over the murder of Godwin Obasu.

Three persons were killed in an accident after a truck rammed into a commercial tricycle and a car in the Epe area of Lagos on Monday.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed this in a post on X.

LASTMA disclosed that the accident resulted from a brake failure by the truck on its way from Ita-Opo.

“Three lives were lost and they’ve been taken to the morgue at Epe General Hospital while we have a tow truck on the ground to evacuate the affected vehicles,” LASTMA said.

“Traffic has been diverted for easy vehicular movement.”

A spokesman of Lagos State Police Command Benjamin Hundeyin did not respond to enquiries on the accident.

In another accident in the Abule Egba, LASTMA said many passengers suffered injuries after a commercial bus suffered brake failure.

LASTMA said injured passengers have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment while its officers restore normalcy to the resultant traffic.
