De Genius Olivet College, Ota, has won this year’s science competition organised for secondary schools in Nigeria by the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN).

With its home made ‘Bio-Gas Digester’ producing cooking gas and fertiliser for planting from waste food or cow dung, the school defeated 35 other states to win the STAN competition in the National Project Exhibition category.

The founder of the School, Ipoola Omisore, commended the students and their teachers for the brilliant performance. While appreciating God for supporting the school thus far, Omisore also commended parents for not only releasing their wards, but believing in their capacity to excel.

The school had earlier emerged best at the state level, and represented Ogun State at the national level.
