In an effort to redefine technology education and enhance career opportunities across the continent, Novotern, an innovative EdTech leader has set new standards in Africa’s digital ecosystem.
Novotern recently took a significant step forward with the expansion of its pan-African internship programme, a collaborative effort with regional partners aimed at offering hands-on experience to aspiring tech professionals.

This initiative is not only accelerating career readiness but also fostering inclusivity and providing a pathway for learners to thrive in an increasingly competitive global market.

Speaking on the programme’s success, David Akande, Operations Manager at Novotern said: “Our success metrics go beyond numbers. We are witnessing a fundamental transformation in Africa’s tech landscape, where geographic location, gender, education level, or background no longer dictate career success. By combining intuitive technology, engaging content, and personalized support, we are proving that anyone can thrive in tech.”

Novotern’s influence is reflected in its 2024 achievements, which include hosting over 65 masterclasses in high-demand areas such as data analytics, product design, software engineering, and agile product management. The company also introduced new tracks in cybersecurity and digital marketing, ensuring learners gain future-ready skills to meet evolving industry demands.

Diversity and inclusion remain at the forefront of Novotern’s mission, with women making up 58 per cent of its trainees, a testament to the company’s dedication to closing the gender gap in technology. Notably, 95 per cent of participants began their journey with no prior experience, underlining Novotern’s ability to transform beginners into industry-ready professionals. Satisfaction rates among learners and instructors stood at 85 per cent and 87 per cent, respectively, highlighting the effectiveness of its learner-focused approach.

Beyond education, Novotern has built a thriving community, welcoming 2,550 new members in 2024. This ecosystem serves as a hub for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, further enriching the learning experience.

Looking ahead, the company is poised to expand its impact. In 2025, Novotern plans to award 3,000 scholarships to undergraduates and recent graduates, a move designed to democratize access to tech education and empower young talents across Africa.

Akande adds: “At Novotern, we’re not just teaching tech skills; we’re fostering a mindset of resilience and innovation. By addressing systemic barriers, we aim to build a tech-driven future that is inclusive and transformative.”

With its focus on accessibility, innovation, and inclusivity, Novotern is reshaping tech education for Africans globally, proving that geography and background need not limit potential.
