THE Oyo State Signage & Advertisement Agency (OYSAA) has frowned at the pasting of unapproved political campaign materials in different sites and unauthorized places around the city of Ibadan in flagrant breach of the extant laws and regulation of the agency.

Director General of the Agency, ‘Yinka Adepoju, in a statement, said OYSAA has the mandate to regulate outdoor advertisement of any nature including political campaign materials and would not tolerate any violation of its guidelines and procedures.

“By this publication, all political campaign organizations/committees are strongly advised to duly apply and obtain approval of OYSAA before posting the campaign materials for their parties in an location, including lamp poles.

“The warning has become necessary in order not to exacerbate the already tense political climate in the country at this electioneering time and to maintain the pervading peace being enjoyed in Oyo State in particular.

“For the avoidance of doubt, OYSAA will not permit the abuse of its guidelines for any advertisement campaign, especially political campaigns because of their sensitivity.

“Those that have posted advertising materials and put up billboards indiscriminately without approval from the body are hereby directed to remove them within the next seven days, as failure to do this shall be met with the appropriate sanctions.”
