Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of News Central TV, Kayode Akintemi, has tasked journalists to be ethical and guard their reputation jealously.
Speaking during his recognition as one of the 100 Most Reputable Africans for 2026, he advised, “your reputation must define you. What kind of person are you?
What do people remember you for? Are you a criminal, are you fraudulent? Or are you what everybody says has good reputation, I can do business with him. You must be good at what you do, and you must also be ethical. Upcoming journalists must also guard their reputation.”
Akintemi chaired a panel titled, ‘Sound, story, and soft power,’ leading esteemed global experts, which underscores his influence and inspires confidence in his leadership among the audience.
The award was presented during a gala ceremony at the Islington London Borough Council in England.
This accolade celebrates Akintemi’s leadership, ethical journalism, and impactful influence on African media storytelling, inspiring pride and respect among the audience.
News Central’s International Correspondent, Afua Hagan, noted, “We are immensely proud of our Managing Director, Kayode Akintemi; his achievement reveals News Central’s dedication to integrity, innovation, and excellence in media. This recognition not only honours his personal reputation but also elevates the platform we build daily to inform, inspire, and unite Africans worldwide.”
