Explosions suspected to be dynamite have rocked the secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) along Port Harcourt/Aba express road in Rivers State amidst festering crisis between the camps of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Governor Siminalayi Fubara over scheduled local council elections today.

It was gathered that the secretariat was attacked Saturday morning by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

The APC State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Tony Okocha, who visited the scene, described the incident as “a reign of terror, horror, impunity, and illegality in Rivers State under the present government.”

Okocha said, “Yes, at the wee hours of Saturday, Pro-Fubara civilian soldiers detonated dynamite at our office.

“The second attempt to set it ablaze was foiled as the security at the gate quickly put out the fire.”
