Shobowale Lukman, co-founder and Head of Business and Growth at Dukiya Investment, has recently been honored with the “Best Entrepreneur” award at the Future African Awards for his remarkable contributions to the real estate industry in Lagos, Nigeria.

Lukman’s journey into real estate began during his time as a Youth Corper, where he discovered his passion for land banking and real estate development. He reflected, “My drive for real estate dates back to my years as a Youth Corper.”

In his first year as a sales associate, Lukman achieved a remarkable $1 million in sales, noting that, “Selling came naturally to me, and I knew then and there that I had found my calling.”

Lukman’s entrepreneurial path was not without challenges as he faced setbacks, including a significant financial loss in an early venture.

He recounted the days he had just one suit and commuted from Baruwa to Lekki, Lagos, to meet people and make sales.

Receiving the “Best Entrepreneur” award has strengthened Lukman’s commitment to his mission.

He said this nomination is a boost to his aspirations and propelled him to break through glass ceilings and continue doing excellent work.

Lukman’s success is rooted in community, curiosity, and unwavering determination.

In terms of mentors, Lukman drew inspiration from figures like Mr. Dapo Agida, Mr. Adebo Adejana, and former U.S. President Donald Trump, who shaped his approach to entrepreneurship.

Looking ahead, Lukman aspires to reshape Africa’s real estate landscape and become the largest holder and seller of land properties on the continent.

Currently, Dukiya Investment focuses on developing sustainable housing solutions to address Nigeria’s housing deficit.

Lukman said his journey as a real estate entrepreneur is marked by determination and a commitment to excellence, adding that the “Best Entrepreneur” award is a testament to his outstanding contributions to the real estate industry in Lagos, Nigeria.
