BBNaija S9: Dance battle fatigue takes toll on housemates

Fatigue took its toll on the housemates as they navigate sleepless nights, wager presentation preparations and the daily dance challenges that have kept them on their feet since the week started.

During week, precisely on Thursday, in the middle of their Round 3 dance challenge rehearsals, Nelly broke her silence to her resident love interest, Topher, stating that she hadn’t slept a wink the previous night because of the anxiety that comes with Biggie’s task.

Reacting, Topher lamented, “three days dance challenge plus sponsor task and we still have the wager.” Nelly echoed back, saying, “my back pains,” adding that she couldn’t sleep well at night.

Head of House (HoH) Tjay tried convincing the duo that the end was near and that he would try have a word with Biggie to loosen the reins a bit. The third round of the dance challenge went smooth though and it was evident that the crews had grown in not only creativity but in their team work as well.

Team Blue did pink crop tops for the girls – Chizoba and Nelly and all black for Ben and Sooj. Team Green rep in the outfit creativity, as their guys – Shaun and Topher wore white shackets, while Anita and Kassia went all black with denim jackets.

Team Mustard pulled through with the sensual moves and for their look, opted for all black for Ocee and Onyeka, while Handi and Wanni went for brown tights and black tank tops. Team Red went for denim bottoms and matching tops while they kept Ozee in a black top.

There was no doubt that the crews had thought out their looks for challenge and they were all ‘giving’. “The earlier everybody gets used to the fact that we’ll be getting activities in the mornings, then better,” HoH Tjay told the housemates after Round 3 of the dance challenge.

Notwithstanding the effect of the energy sapping dance task and the fatigue that comes with sleeplessness, Chizoba, Onyeka and Handi still had the energy to dance some more in the bedroom while everyone else took advantage of the downtime they were afforded by the HoH after completing the dance challenge.

As if that was not enough, Biggie sent in a game for the housemates to play and HoH Tjay put up Anita to be quiz master while he charged Kassia, Nelly, Ozee, Shaun and Wanni to be team captains. The teams had to exercise fasted fingers in answering general knowledge questions posed by the quiz master.

Meanwhile Ben, Chizoba, Kassia, Kellyrae, Ozee, Shaun, Sooj, Topher, and Victoria are up for possible eviction on Sunday. Recall that there was no eviction last week, as Big Brother declared its first “No Eviction Day” in the ongoing BBNaija Season 9, thus sending waves of joy and relief through the house.

Following the declaration as announced by show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, during last Sunday Live show, the housemates, who had been bracing themselves for the usual Sunday eviction based on viewers’ votes, were caught off guard by the announcement that no one would be leaving the house this week.
