The power of your reverential fear for the lord

Psalm 112:1-2 “Praise ye the LORD, BLESSED IS THE MAN THAT FEARETH THE LORD; that delighteth greatly in His commandments. His SEED SHALL BE MIGHTY UPON EARTH; the generation of the upright SHALL BE BLESSED.”
It is an essential feature of our lives as believers to reverence, honour and fear the LORD. Because of the unique position of God in our lives, God the Father must be given His proper reverence, honour and worship. Our fear of God is not negative but a positive attitude of reverence, which helps us ascribe to God His due Omnipotence, Sovereignty and Supremacy. If God is indeed Absolute, Infinite and Supreme in all things, He deserves to be given all honour, respect, obeisance, submission, surrender and homage. The Word of God declares that the reverential fear and worship of the LORD is actually the beginning of wisdom. Psalm 111:10.
The first evidence and proof of our Godly wisdom is a reverential fear and worship of God. Our definition of who the Almighty God is, puts Him in that place where He cannot be treated with non-challance or disrespected. God declares in 1 Samuel 2:30 “Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, ……. for THEM THAT HONOUR ME, I WILL HONOUR and they that despise me SHALL BE LIGHTLY ESTEEMED.”
God is JEALOUSLY WATCHING how we treat Him in our thoughts and actions. Do we exhibit a pseudo relationship whereby God is disrespected even when we have His clear instructions? Is our relationship with God so superficial, phony or fluid, that we do what we like and tell God that He can do what He likes? Eli displayed non-challance despite persistent warnings and he told God that He should do whatever He likes. A reverential fear of the LORD, which makes us to honour God in all things can always make the difference in our lives. Not even our faith is as strong as our reverential worship and obedience of God.
Demons believe that God exists but they do not worship or reverence God. The Scripture has so many blessings attached to the fear of the LORD, which makes us to run away from evil. Proverbs 10:27 “The fear of the LORD PROLONGETH DAYS; but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.” Proverbs 14:27 “The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.” Psalm 34:9 “O fear the LORD ye His saints; for THERE IS NO WANT TO THEM THAT FEAR HIM.” Psalm 33;18 “Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear Him, upon them that hope in His Mercy.”
Psalm 103:17 “But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him and His righteousness unto children’s children.” Psalm 115:13 “HE WILL BLESS THEM THAT FEAR THE LORD, both small and great.” Psalm 111:5 “He HATH GIVEN MEAT UNTO THEM that fear Him; He will ever be mindful of His covenant.” Psalm 145:19 “HE WILL FULFILL THE DESIRE of them that fear Him; He also will hear their cry AND WILL SAVE THEM.”
Psalm 147:11 “The LORD TAKETH PLEASURE IN THEM THAT FEAR Him, in those that hope in His mercy.” Proverbs 16:6 “By mercy and truth iniquity is purged and by the fear of the LORD, men depart from evil.” Proverbs 19:23 “The fear of the LORD TENDETH TO LIFE and he that hath it SHALL ABIDE SATISFIED; he shall NOT BE VISITED WITH EVIL.” God has stored overwhelming promotion, provision, preservation, etc for those who treat God with dignity, honour, reverence and obedience. Make it your way of life to reverence the LORD in all that you do and the blessings of God will permeate your life perpetually.
PRAYER: LORD, I turn to You today with reverential Godly fear. You are Greater than the greatest, Higher than the highest and unto You I ascribe all the honour, reverence, allegiance and obedience. I ascribe to You Your rightful place in my life. You are the Only One worthy to be obeyed, worthy to be honoured, worthy to be worshipped in my life.
