Samsung Industry, Total Nigeria disobeying court order, plaintiff tells court
A LAWYER and plaintiff in the suit against Samsung Heavy Industry Nigeria Limited and others, Mr. John Owubokiri, has told a Federal High Court, Lagos, that Samsung and Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd were still working on the multi-million dollar contract for the controversial storage and offloading unit FPSO in Egina Field within OML 130, despite an order of the court for parties to maintain status quo.
Owubokiri’s counsel in the matter, Mr Olukayode Enitan, at the resumed hearing informed the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang that despite the order of the court, Samsung Heavy and Total Upstream Nigeria were still executing the project.
But the judge advised Enitan to do the needful if was sure that the defendants were in breach of the order of his court.
Meanwhile, Samsung Heavy Industry Limited has challenged the jurisdiction of the court to hear the suit, contending that the court has no jurisdiction to hear same.
However, the court adjourned till February 26, for hearing of all pending applications in the matter.
