Not getting 2025 Super Bowl halftime show hurt me – Lil Wayne
American rapper Lil Wayne has said not being selected for the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show deeply hurt him.
Speaking in a viral video on Friday, the rap legend admitted that the disappointment hit him hard, especially since it would have been a huge honour to perform in his hometown, New Orleans.
Lil Wayne expressed that he had hoped to be chosen, but instead, Kendrick Lamar got the nod.

Fans of Wayne, including Nicki Minaj, have not held back their criticism, blaming Jay-Z, who was responsible for the selection.
In his emotional message, Wayne took responsibility, admitting he wasn’t mentally ready for such a blow.
He shared how much it hurt and how he’s trying to come to terms with the situation.
“That hurt a lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown. I thought there was nothing better than that stage in my city… It broke me and I’m just trying to put me back together,” he said.
Recall that The National Football League, Roc Nation and Apple Music announced on Sunday that the California-born rapper will headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show on February 9th in New Orleans.
“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one,” Lamar said in a statement.
