Governor Yusuf receives Pillar of Nation Building award

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has received a national recognition for outstanding contributions to human and social development and nation building in the state.

Yusuf was conferred with the prestigious award at the Nigeria Nation Builders Award 2024 organised by the Council of Civil Society Organisations in collaboration with Vision-One Leadership Development Initiative, at the Army Resource Centre, Abuja.

In a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf was presented with the Certificate of Nation Builder Award and a commemorative plaque, officially earning him the title of “Pillar of Nation Building.”

The President, National Council of Civil Society Organisations, Mr. Emmanuel Jonny, said Governor Yusuf was considered for the award owning to his exceptional achievements in key areas, including advancing education, enhancing infrastructure, empowering communities, and fostering human capital development in Kano State.

The Convener of the award ceremony stressed that the council found Yusuf worthy of the prestigious award judging by the transformative leadership and dedication to improving the lives of Kano residents.

Comrade Jonny described the Governor’s policies and approach to governance as innovative and impactful, which serve as model for visionary leadership in Nigeria.

According to the statement, the organiser also highlighted Governor Yusuf’s unwavering commitment to fostering unity, progress, and prosperity across Kano State and the nation.

Reaffirming his role as a leader who is devoted to inclusive development and sustainable growth, Jonny submitted that Yusuf has uplifted communities and drives national progress in less than two years in government.

While receiving the award on behalf of the Governor, Special adviser on State Affairs, Alh. Usman Bala lauded the recognition of Governor Yusuf as a Pillar in Nation Building, added that the award underscored the administration’s commitment to human capital development under the NNPP.

Bala said the deserving honor is a testament to the Governor’s relentless efforts in pursuing initiatives that inspire positive change, positioning Kano as reference point for development and innovation in Nigeria

The ceremony also featured several notable dignitaries, who were also honored for their significant contributions to national development.
